Public Engagement Watch is a joint project of the National League of Cities and the Annenburg Institute for School Reform. Many of the resources it promotes are useful for librarians engaged in collaboration or community engagement. The report, "Reading Next," identifies fifteen fundamental elements of effective literacy intervention.

School and community involvement by school children and young adults are tracked by Child Trends. Library activites are not a variable. Perhaps this could be corrected by a closer librarian connection to Child Trends which is celebrating 25 years. There are no librarians on the Board of Directors.
